The number of people who are killed each year based on current statistics:
- Suicides between 2000 and 2004
- 57% are from gun deaths
- 40% of gun deaths are homicides
- 70% were domestic or acquaintance homicide
More than 1,300 10-19 year olds committed suicide with a firearm. Juveniles killed by other juveniles between 2000 and 2004...
- 13% were under the age 6
- 47% were the parent of the victim
- 18% were another family member
- 63% were age 15 or older
- 76% were killed by acquaintances
- 19% were killed by strangers
